Position: Elementary Principal

Qualifications: Applicant must possess a Master’s Degree or higher along with a valid South Carolina administration certification in elementary education. Also must have exemplary leadership skills that promote the maximum educational development of all students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Ensures the success of students by facilitating the implementation and evaluation of a shared vision for teaching and learning that promotes high standards for academic performance and positive student behavior
• Supervises the instructional programs of the school, including evaluating lesson design, observing classroom instruction regularly, and monitoring the use of research-based instructional strategies and materials for optimum student learning
• Develops clear and effective procedures for the operation of the school and ensures a safe and orderly environment
• Establishes an annual master schedule for instructional programs
• Supervises discipline and attendance systems and implements policies related to conduct and behavior in an equitable manner
• Displays and maintains the highest standard for professional behavior when working with students, staff, parents, community members and other stakeholders
• Manages the school budget under the direction of the district finance department and monitors the expenditure of funds
• Promotes the development of specific and measurable goals for student achievement by utilizing assessment data to create a school-wide approach to data driven instructional practices
• Selects, supports, evaluates and retains high quality instructional and support staff
• Promotes effective teacher collaboration, professional learning and instructional best practices
• Accepts responsibility for the implementation of school board policies
• A strong understanding and/or successful work in theme-based magnet programs or a school within a school magnet model
• Performs other duties as assigned

Terms of Employment: 230 Days
